Toyota is eyeing airless tires for its future electric cars

Toyota’s conceptual airless tires consist of a band of rubber around a plastic-aluminum hub. The company says it’s testing them on kei cars and golf carts in Japan. Many companies have shown airless tire concepts-Polaris is the only company to actually commercialize them -but the technology is yet to reach any sort of mass adoption in the automotive sector.
